How to Prepare for Your Braiding Appointment

Plan your style, confirm hair requirements, and arrive with the details that help your appointment run smoothly.

Start with the look you actually want

A little planning makes it easier to explain your ideal style. Save one or two clear photos that show the braid size, length, parting and finish you like. If your reference combines several ideas, identify which details matter most. A photograph is a useful starting point for a conversation, rather than a guarantee that the same technique will suit every head of hair.

Confirm the service and hair requirements

Browse our services and the corresponding price list before booking. Hair is included for some services and excluded for others. Check the notes for your exact style, then ask the salon to confirm the hair type, colour, and amount if you need to bring it. Buying first can mean bringing something unsuitable for the finish you want.

Ask about washing and preparation

Tell the salon about your current hairstyle and ask how your hair should be prepared for the service you have chosen. Do not assume that every appointment has the same preparation requirements. Shampoo and blow-dry is listed at $20; confirm whether you want to add it and whether extra time is needed. If you are removing an existing style, allow time to do so carefully rather than rushing immediately before your appointment.

Plan your time and your budget

Ask for an appointment-length estimate based on your chosen style, braid size and length. Leave room in your schedule rather than planning an important commitment immediately afterwards. For a custom style, share a picture or video and confirm the price before your visit. Cash is preferred; card payments have a $5 fee, while Zelle and Cash App do not have an additional payment fee.

Keep your appointment details handy

The salon is at 595 Main St, Suite 237, Laurel, MD 20707. Free parking is available. Save our number, 240-571-1542, so you can call if you need directions or your plans change. Cancellations less than two hours before the appointment and no-shows are not refunded. Early and night appointments need to be arranged and carry their listed surcharges.
